Firing Tables FT 8-I-1, Part 2A-2, issued by the Bureau of Ordnance in August 1941, provides the official firing data for the 8-inch gun, Mark VI, Modification 3A2. The tables cover three projectiles: the H.E. shell 240-pound M103, the A.P. shell 260-pound Mark XX, and the T.P. shell 260-pound Mark XVIII (with fuze P.D. M51 Modification 1 and fuze B.D. Mk X). The document spans pages 68–137 and presents firing corrections, ballistic data, and range table entries for the full elevation range of the gun. The 8″/55 cruiser gun armed heavy cruisers of the Pensacola, Northampton, Portland, and New Orleans classes.
