Ordnance Pamphlet 770 contains the official range tables for the 16-inch/50 caliber gun, Mark D, as issued by the Bureau of Ordnance in October 1941. The document covers the 2700-pound projectile fired at an initial velocity of 2,500 feet per second to a maximum range of 42,345 yards. It includes ballistic corrections, parallax corrections, curvature of the earth tables, explanatory notes for the range table columns, target projectile data, and detailed firing data sheets (Plates). These are the standard range tables used aboard Iowa-class battleships for the 16″/50 Mk 7 gun.
