Firing Tables FT 8-I-1 were issued by the Bureau of Ordnance in August 1941 for the 8-inch gun, Mark VI, Modification 3A2 — the 8″/55 cruiser gun that armed the heavy cruisers of the Pensacola, Northampton, Portland, and New Orleans classes. The tables give the official firing data for three projectiles: the H.E. shell 240-pound M103, the A.P. shell 260-pound Mark XX, and the T.P. shell 260-pound Mark XVIII, fired with fuze P.D. M51 Modification 1 and fuze B.D. Mk X.
