Text-Book of Ordnance and Gunnery

Fullam & Hart — U.S. Naval Institute, 1903 — complete in two volumes

Fullam and Hart's Text-Book of Ordnance and Gunnery was the standard instruction text at the U.S. Naval Academy at the turn of the twentieth century. Volume 1 (Chapters I–XIX) covers gun construction, gun mounts, and interior and exterior ballistics; Volume 2 (Chapters XX–XXXIV) covers automatic and machine guns, small arms, explosives and gunpowder, projectiles and fuses, ammunition stowage, armor protection and penetration, the proving ground, submarine mines, field fortifications, and practical naval gunnery. Numerous full-page plates are interleaved throughout both volumes.

These files are made available through the kind generosity of Ralph B. Tacoma from Wyoming, a member of the Coast Defense Study Group, to whom I say thank you very much.
