Battery Arizona and the
Kahe Point Military Reservation

This article by John D. Bennett, published in the Coast Defense Journal (February 2005, page 61), documents the history of Battery Arizona at the Kahe Point Military Reservation on Oahu. The battery was part of the extensive system of shore defense installations protecting the Hawaiian Islands during and after World War II, housing the 8-inch naval gun turrets removed from USS Lexington (CV-2). The article covers the site history, the guns and turret hardware, installation details, and the battery’s service record.
