Quartermaster 1 & C (NAVTRA 10151-D) is the U.S. Naval Training Command rate training manual prepared for personnel striking for advancement to Quartermaster First Class and Chief Quartermaster. It carries the Quartermaster — the Navy’s bridge navigation rating — from the practical knowledge required for advancement through the full scope of shipboard navigation and bridge watchstanding: magnetic and gyro compasses, piloting and dead reckoning, electronic navigation, celestial navigation, assisting the Officer of the Deck and ship handling, assisting the navigator, the Rules of the Road, weather, records and reports, and security of classified material. An appendix of navigational hints and a full index complete the manual.
